Get to Know Me!
A handful of years ago, this Wisconsinite packed up his Packers gear, grabbed an Anodyne coffee, threw on his shorts (because 44 degrees = shorts weather in the Midwest) and pointed his car south, Austin-bound. I moved because several friends and family members had already made the trek before me, and I wanted to be near them. I had no idea at the time how quickly I would grow to love the Austin community, the culture, the food, and the people – but I was 100% sold. Today, I consider Austin home, and I continually seek ways to further entrench myself with all things Texas.
Although I've worked on a broad range of graphic design projects my experience makes me uniquely qualified to work for companies/corporations with in-house creative departments. My experience ranges from health care and various charities to outdoor power equipment and international finance. In each instance, I created designs that spoke to that specific business area. I am skilled at adhering to brand standards while still developing creative and memorable messages. My career as a graphic designer has led me to adapt to whatever company/business I work for.
My ambition is working in a creative team atmosphere that focuses on striking communications while still maintaining a clear message. I was the leader on such teams, but my management philosophy is service above self.
One of my greatest skills is being able to communicate my ideas thoroughly and being able to accept and adapt when criticism is given. After all it's not art, but design and I've learned not to become attached personally to my work, as I do with my art.
Speaking of which, I also enjoy being creative outside of graphic design. My artwork/photography benefits from stepping away from the computer and enjoying nature. My graphic design isn’t a job, it’s a calling. I look forward to working with you.
